For a while, this really bothered me.

My cat would walk up to the water,
take maybe two or three sips…
and then just leave.

Every single time.

I kept thinking,
“Is that even enough?”

It wasn’t random.

She would come back later.
Then again.
Always just a few seconds at a time.

Cats don’t drink like we do.

They don’t sit and drink a full “cup.”
They take small amounts — but more often.

Once I realized that, it made a lot more sense.

On days when the water wasn’t fresh,
those “small sips” became even smaller.

Sometimes she’d just walk away completely.

Nothing dramatic.

Just:

fresher water
cleaner bowl
better placement

That was enough to make those short visits happen more often.
