I Thought My Cat Needed More Water — But I Was Solving the Wrong Problem
Share
I was worried my cat wasn’t drinking enough.
So I did what most people do.
I added more water bowls.
One in the kitchen.
One in the living room.
One near her bed.
I thought — more options = more drinking.
But nothing really changed.
She still ignored most of them.
That’s when I realized…
It wasn’t about how many options she had.
It was about which one she preferred.
I started watching more carefully.
Same pattern every time.

She would skip the still water —
and go straight to anywhere with movement.
That’s when it hit me.
I had been trying to fix a quantity problem…
when it was actually a preference problem.
After that, I stopped adding more bowls.
I just focused on giving her one option she actually liked.
And that worked better than everything else I tried.
