I Left Two Water Bowls Out — My Cat Made a Choice I Didn’t Expect
Share
I always assumed more options = better.
So one day, I decided to test something simple. I placed two water bowls in different spots in the house. Same water, same time, same everything.

One was in the usual place — near her food.
The other one I put near the window where she likes to sit.
I didn’t think much of it.
But over the next few days, I started noticing a pattern.
She almost never touched the one near her food.
But the one by the window?
She kept going back to it.
At first, I thought it was just coincidence.
But it wasn’t.
That spot had light, fresh air, and was part of her “territory.”
It felt safe, calm… and somehow more appealing.
Later on, I tried replacing that bowl with a small fountain.

Not a big change — just curiosity.
And interestingly, she started spending even more time there.
Not just drinking… but staying.
It made me realize something I hadn’t thought about before.
Cats don’t just drink water.
They choose where it feels right to drink.
